Gabriela turned 1 year old this month! We celebrated with a double-birthday party for her and Krista (our summer worker from Alaska) complete with games, piñata, and presents. Gaby and Krista both had a great time!
For the whole summer vacation Miguel, Antonio, and Julio along with David and Lane Cooke will be taking swimming lessons at a near-by swimming pool. The first few weeks the boys were very fearful of the water and had to be forced to do what the teacher was instructing, but now we are seeing that they are gaining confidence and strength and are more willing to give new skills a try. We are confident that by the end of the summer they will be swimming like fish and totally free from fear of water.

Our tenth child was brought to us a few weeks ago by Child and Family services in a nearby town. She is the youngest sister of 5 other children we care for (Miguel, Toño, Juan, Chepe who is pictured here with her, and Katia) and is 11 months old. She is a sweet heart and very complacent. Gaby is behind in her motor skills but is learning and getting stronger every day. Ìt is such fun to watch the other children interact with her...even baby Victor who is only 1 1/2 "helps" her and calls her baby.
Here´s a short clip of Elizabeth dancing at her school. Do you recognize the boy she is dancing with? He is Arturo, the very first child we were brought! They are in school together at the special education school. Arturo now lives with his dad but we get to see him every day at school. Enjoy this clip!
