Inspection

A few weeks ago we had our first official drop-in inspection from the ¨Procuraduria Social¨which is a government organization in charge of making sure that Children´s Homes, jails, and homes for the elderly are running as they should be, that all the director´s paperwork is in order, and that the human rights of the people being attended to are being respected. It was a 4 hour long inspection in which they looked around the house, watched us with the children, went through each child´s file, asked for one document after another and interviewed us and the children. In the end we were congratulated on what a good job we are doing and on the quality of the documentation. The only negative comments we recieved where that the children who had just waken up from their naps hadn´t re-made their beds and that the boys bathroom was smelly (someone had forgotten to flush the toilet). We are so pleased that the inspection went well and that we had such good comments at the end. At any time we can be inspected by a number of government agencies, so we work hard to always have everything in order and be an example of excellence as we believe God would want us to be.
